The country has 525.65 million mobile subscribers in total, or a 43.15% penetration rate.(November 2009). The five largest (in order of subscribers) are Airtel (116.16 million),Reliance Communications (88.93 million), Vodafone Essar (85.83 million), BSNL (53.96 million) and Idea Cellular (53.35 million).
